FlyCat Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026 Effective: October 13, 2026
FlyCat ("the App") is provided by the developer Hark Agent ("we" or "us"). It is an open-source network proxy client that runs the mihomo or sing-box core locally on your device and forwards traffic according to the configuration you import yourself. Please read this policy carefully before using the App.
1. We do not collect your personal information
- The App has no accounts and never asks for your name, phone number, email or any other identity information.
- The App does not collect or upload any personal information, device identifiers, browsing history, traffic content, connection records, usage statistics or behavioral data.
- We operate no server for the App, so we cannot see and do not store your traffic, subscription URLs or node information.
- The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, push or crash-reporting SDK.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following stays in the App's private storage and is never sent to us:
- Subscription URLs and files you import, and the configuration generated from them (which may contain proxy server addresses and credentials).
- Settings: core choice, ports, controller secret, language, theme, notification, floating button, picture-in-picture and similar preferences.
- Run logs and crash logs: core logs, memory usage, error messages, app version, device model, OS version and the process exit reason reported by the system, for your own troubleshooting. Logs are never uploaded automatically; they leave the App only when you tap Copy, Share or Save As.
- A copy of a wallpaper image you choose (only if you set one).
Uninstalling the App deletes all of the above. You can also delete subscriptions and clear logs inside the App.
3. Network access
The App requests the network permission (ohos.permission.INTERNET) and the network-state permission (ohos.permission.GET_NETWORK_INFO). It only makes network requests in these cases:
- Subscriptions: downloading the configuration from the URL you enter, and rule sets or proxy providers referenced by that configuration. These services are run by third parties unrelated to us.
- Proxying: once the VPN is on, device traffic goes direct or through the proxy servers in your configuration; DNS queries go to encrypted DNS services per the configuration (by default Google, Cloudflare, AliDNS and DNSPod).
- Latency tests: requests to your test URL (by default www.gstatic.com/generate_204) and to the home-screen sites (Google, YouTube, GitHub, Baidu) to measure speed.
- Exit IP lookup: after connecting, the App asks ip-api.com (falling back to api.ip.sb and ipinfo.io), through the proxy, for the current exit IP and its location, shown on the home screen only. These services see the proxy's exit IP and handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Update check: only when you tap Check for updates, via the Huawei AppGallery system service.
Beyond these cases, the App sends no data to any server.
4. Permissions and device capabilities
- VPN: after you approve the system prompt, the App uses the system VPN capability to create a local virtual interface. Traffic travels only between your device and the servers you configured; we cannot access it.
- Notifications: an ongoing notification showing connection state and speed, which you can turn off in Settings.
- Picture-in-picture: used only when you turn on PiP keep-alive, to show a small status window.
- Clipboard: when you open Add subscription, the App reads the clipboard once and fills in the URL if it is one; nothing is stored or uploaded. Copy writes to the clipboard.
- File and image pickers: the system pickers are used to import configuration files or wallpapers; the App can access only what you select.
- Gravity sensor: used only when you enable the related light effect; data stays in memory.
- System events: the App subscribes locally to the system's app-killed events solely to write the local crash log.
5. Your rights
You can view, change or delete subscriptions and settings at any time, withdraw consent to this policy in Settings → About (the App will then exit and ask for consent again next time), or uninstall the App to delete all data.
6. Minors
The App is intended for adults with network-configuration knowledge. It is not offered to anyone under 18 and collects no information about minors.
7. Changes
When this policy changes, we update it in the App and on the website, and ask for your consent again where required.
